Demented Poets
Demented Poets is a project inspired by poetry written by people living with dementia combined with music by professional musician Andrew Eaton-Lewis, creating a unique EP.
The first EP was put together from poetry by Ron Coleman, Gerry King and John Hole, with music inspired by Bowie, Iggy Pop and Depeche Mode. Andrew Eaton-Lewis worked with each of the poets to find genres of music that fitted with their taste, so that their poetry could come alive personalised to music written for them.
Talking about the process, Gerry King said:
“Never in a million years did I think one of my poems would be converted with music into a song. It’s a memorable and meaningful legacy for me and my family, and a humbling experience.”.
